Marissa grew up in the flatlands of Manitoba. Once she moved to BC, she found a love for the mountains, It wasn’t long before some friends started to show her some of the dirt trails that Whistler has to offer. Marissa is a huge fan of massive bike missions. Her most memorable biking moments have involved everything from pedal adventures in the Chilcotins, to marathon bike races/challenges like the Nimby Fifty and the Big Effin’ Loop. It would not be surprising to find her punching out a lap of Into the Mystic/Lord of the Squirrels before starting work, or racing out in the evening to squeeze in one more quick lap off the flank before dark. “We’re so lucky to have such awesome trail networks right in our backyard, here in Whistler. And when you feel like something different, it’s only a quick drive to Squamish or Pemberton. The stoke level for pedaling is always high with so much variety!” This season you will see Marissa in some local XC and Enduro races. She’s a regular rider at the local WORCA Toonie races where she always has a smile on her face whilst pedaling as hard as she can.
