Lizzie Darke

Lead Guide

From the UK Lizzie started working in the outdoor industry after finishing school to chase the sun around the world as a windsurf instructor. Riding bikes was how she spent her time waiting around for the wind to pick up and exploring the local hills, very soon the biking took centre stage as her passion grew. Wanting to make a move into guiding Lizzie returned to the UK to get certified as a guide and landed her first MTB guiding job in the coastal mountains of Greece. ‘I would be pedalling an average of 300km a week in ridiculous heat, everyone thought I was crazy but I loved it!’ Lizzie spent the next 4 years guiding in the summers and snowboarding in the winters going between Greece and France.

‘My first memorable experience mountain biking was aged 12 on a family holiday in Chamonix. Fast forward 12 years and I somehow found myself back in the French Alpes on the summit of Pic Blanc about to race the Megavalanche!’

Lizzie made the move to Whistler and fell in love with the area, exploring the trails in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton. ‘Guiding for me is an amazing job. you can’t beat being able to ride all day, sharing some of the best trails in the world, with people from around the world’
